Mind Pulse for iPad
Most problems are one of the questions below. If yours isn't, email me and I'll help.
Email humandesign.dhamma@gmail.comI'm playing but nothing shows up
First check that Mind Pulse may use the microphone: open Settings on your iPad, find Mind Pulse, and turn Microphone on.
Then put the iPad close to the keyboard's speakers and turn the keyboard up. Try single notes on a piano sound first.
Some notes are missed, or extra shapes appear
Through the microphone, single notes are picked up best. Big chords, very soft playing, and sounds with a lot of vibrato are harder to hear correctly, and voices in the room can show up as notes.
For exact notes every time, connect the keyboard with a cable.
How do I connect my keyboard with a cable?
Use the keyboard's USB port marked "USB to host" (often a square socket), not the flat one meant for flash drives. Run a cable from there to your iPad. The keyboard's name followed by "connected" appears at the bottom of the screen.
Which keyboards work?
Through the microphone: any keyboard or piano you can hear. By cable: keyboards that send MIDI over USB, which most modern digital keyboards do.
Which iPads does it run on?
iPads running iPadOS 27 or later.
Does Mind Pulse record me?
No. Sound is analysed on your iPad and never recorded, saved or sent anywhere. See the privacy policy.
